A Visitor Center provides exhibits on the geology, ecology, prehistory and history of the Park and nearby region.

Saturday Group Excursion…

Silent Heroes of the Cold War National Memorial

Silent Heroes of the Cold War National Memorial

Join us for a peek inside a powerful, little-known chapter of American history!

On Saturday morning, we’ll carpool together to Mt. Charleston to visit the Silent Heroes of the Cold War National Memorial—the nation’s only memorial honoring the secretive military and intelligence professionals of the Cold War.

The site commemorates a 1955 plane crash tied to a classified U-2 spy program, whose victims remained unnamed for over 40 years. Part history, part mystery, this excursion promises a meaningful shared experience and a chance to connect over stories rarely told!
